  • Showcase your books and stories with elegant layouts.
  • Grow your audience through contact forms and mailing lists.
  • Share exclusive content like PDFs, videos, and event updates.
  • Own your platform and stand out in today’s competitive publishing world.

By the end of this session, you’ll have the confidence and tools to launch your author website and elevate your brand. Don’t miss this chance to connect with readers and make your mark online!

How does it work?

With the same Word Weaver Pro account you use for writing your manuscript, you also have the option to build an author website. In your account settings, you can pick a subdomain that is added to writercafe.me. There are no additional charges for creating an author site with as much content as you want to have. Here is an example we have created: https://jlehman.writercafe.me/

Using the familiar Word Weaver Pro interface that is used for managing all your writing and world-building, you can add pages to your website directly in Word Weaver Pro.

Own your platform

Social media and retail platforms are great—but they’re not yours. Algorithms change, policies shift, and platforms disappear. When you rely on them, you lose control over your audience.

Your email list is gold. Owning it means you decide how to communicate, what to share, and how to build lasting relationships.

Why a website matters

Here’s why having your own site is essential:

  • Establish credibility
A professional website shows you’re serious about your craft and committed to building your brand.
  • Increase visibility
Optimize your content for search engines so readers can discover your work easily.
  • Connect with readers
Share updates, behind-the-scenes insights, and exclusive content to keep readers engaged.
  • Promote your work
Highlight your books, share excerpts, and make it easy for readers to buy your work.

How to build your list

  • Offer a lead magnet (free short story, guide, or bonus content).
  • Add opt-in forms to your site for newsletter sign-ups.
  • Share exclusive content like character backstories, illustrations, and pronunciation guides.
  • Keep your site fresh—new content improves search rankings and keeps readers coming back.
