1.9.8 |
Very handy feature added today. In the All items page and the Recently updated block, you can type a few letters of what you are looking for, it will automatically filter the list showing you the items that match. We have also refined the Search page to show more relevant items at the top. |
1.9.7 |
The Helpful Links page was getting pretty long (a good problem to have), so we added some filters to make it a more useful tool. Now you can only see the stuff you are interested in. We also added some sharing links to certain pages so people can spread the word of our coolness. |
1.9.6 |
You can now install Word Weaver Pro as a Progressive Web App (PWA) to make it even easier to work with. In Chrome, Edge and Safari (but not Firefox), on both desktop and mobile, you will see a notification that an app is available. If you install it, you will see the site launch in its own app. You can then keep it in your dock (Mac) or taskbar (Windows). This is a great way to be able to jump into Word Weaver Pro at any time without having to launch your browser. |
1.9.5 |
Added a new feature of a log in the editor itself. As you are typing, it records changes, and you can jump around all the changes in the last 24 hours without leaving the editing screen.
|
1.9.4 |
Many tiny enhancements in the way information is displayed and accessed. One feature requested from an author is to open Resources in a new tab when viewing or editing another item. Great idea. Characters and Locations in an overlay make sense, but a resource is too complex for an overlay, and can contain external links.
|
1.9.3 |
Lots of little bug fixes and tweaks to the UI. Updated the logo as well. |
1.9.2 |
This release brings a new read-aloud feature to replace the one in the reader preview. Now, when you are viewing a chapter or scene, you can have it read out that item. For example, you could work on a scene, save it, then have Word Weaver Pro read it out so you can hear the flow. We have also streamlined the toolbar (a lot) and moved it up to free up space in your work area. Check it out. Please contact us with your thoughts. |
1.9.1 |
We made some major changes and improvements to the way the site is cached on the internet. Pages that are available without logging in are now completely served up by our content delivery network. Pages displayed to a logged-in user have all the common parts served by a CDN (for example, the background image and the files used to enable the editor toolbar). This had to be done very, very carefully so that nobody’s private content is shown to another person because of a problem with caching. Because of this, it took a lot of testing before we could deploy these changes. |
1.9.0 |
Big release. Tons of security enhancements and streamlining of the back-end. All of this is to prepare for our 2.0 release. |
1.8.2 |
We’re excited to announce a new update that makes creating and editing even easier! Now, the main edit page is streamlined for a cleaner, more efficient experience. You can still access rarely used fields, but they’re neatly tucked away in an “Additional Options” pop-up. BTW, you are not seeing a lot of new releases recently because we are hard at work on Word Weaver Pro version 2.0! |
1.8.1 |
Word Weaver Pro is GDPR-compliant! Authors from the EU can now join in on the fun. And everyone on the Earth will be inflicted with the annoying “Cookie Consent” alert that everyone hates. We also have an exciting new feature: A Privacy Policy! So good. |
1.8 |
Now when adding or changing Characters, Locations and Resources while you are editing Chapters and Scenes, you can access and modify the author's notes.
|
1.7.1 |
Reworked the theme completely. Switched from Userlike to tawk.to for live chat. Much better service and has an app for the iPhone. |
1.7.0 |
Dark mode is back! We had to disable it because of some compatibility issues with a third-party library. Well… it’s back! |
1.6.9 |
Sections and Subsections To make the site easier for new users, Sections are now called Chapters and Subsections are now called Scenes. There was some confusion over that, so we have simplified the item naming. The idea was to keep the terms generic because a Section might not be a chapter, but a prologue or something. A Subsection could be a scene, but also anything not part of the main chapter text. However, it was too confusing. |
1.6.8 |
This latest release includes various enhancements to improve accessibility. All pretty minor stuff, but the site needs to be usable by anyone. |
1.6.7 |
A status page has been set up at https://status. wordweaver.pro. This will display the current status (duh) and any upcoming scheduled downtime. |
1.6.6 |
We have rolled out a nice new feature: narration in Reader view. You can now have your story read out to you. It highlights each sentence. If you hear something you would like to change, selecting the area being read will take you directly to that item. |
1.6.5 |
Today we are rolling out optimizations for mobile. Now you can see more information and work easier when on mobile. The site has always been responsive to the dimensions whatever device is being used to view it. However, we were sticking with the accessibility guidelines of no less than 16px text. However, it seems like pretty much every website on the planet throws those guidelines away on mobile. Please contact us if something is not working correctly on mobile. |
1.6.0 |
We have a couple nice usability additions this week.
|
1.5.0 |
Added the ability for a user to export everything they have in Word Weaver Pro. That way, if it is not for them (boo!), they won't lose any of their work and can switch to something else in a manageable way. |
1.4.0 |
New feature: Folders everywhere. You can now add a folder of items anywhere. So a Character could reference his associates, or information about their magic spells, etc. The folder can be edited, like any folder, to add descriptions and even other folders. |
1.3.0 |
Very exciting news. You can use your Google account to create an account or log into Word Weaver Pro. Go to https://wordweaver.pro/user/login and click “Log in using Google.” If you don’t have an account, it will create one. If you do have an account using your Google account email (such as Gmail), it will log you in. Google will only get the information that you have an account, and when you log in. As always, no other data or analytics is ever sent to Google. |
1.2.0 |
Today’s release includes Quick Note. On mobile devices a button appears at the top of the home page. That button will open a streamlined form to add a Resource. The two fields displayed are audio recordings, and text notes. Once you save it, a full Resource is saved. This is designed to give you a very quick way to jot down an idea you have, or record it as audio. |
1.1.0 |
Today we released the huge 1.1 update. We don’t look at anyone’s work, but we do run reports as to the number of items created by each person, and if they sign up after the free period. What we found is that 85% of people create an account, go to the site, and create a couple things and never come back. We started asking authors we know to go to the site, and tell us how difficult is it to start. We got a lot of feedback that was disappointing. They said if they could see an exiting project and mess around with it, instead of expecting them to enter stuff, it would make all the difference. Well now we are rolling out an example WIP that will be added to all accounts, new or existing. We have been fortunate enough to be able to allow a previous WIP from the best selling author J Lehman-Köhler to be used as an example for a substantial (but totally worth it) fee. We are thrilled and very grateful such an amazing and gifted author would allow us to use a WIP of his. You can find out more about the author here: https://j-lehman-kohler.com/ |
